Setting Evolution to connect to NUS MS Exchange
From http://groups.yahoo.com/group/linuxNUS/message/777 (posted by Goh Kim Leng):
Type at the command line:
$ ximian-connector-setup-2.2
The version of the setup program will differ, so it is best to use tab completion to access the binary.
Settings are as follows:
- OWA URL: http://exchange.nus.edu.sg/exchange (Note: If the authentication fails, "http" might automatically be changed to "https"in this field. In this case, change it back to "http")
- Username: NUSuserid (Note: no need "nusstu" or "nusstf")
- GC Server: exchange.ex.nus.edu.sg (Note: If you get "LDAP authentication failed" message in the terminal, you can try at a later time)
Setting Evolution to connect through IMAP
If you cannot connect to Exchange, consider using IMAP. Similar to Exchange, it keeps all emails on the NUS servers. Thus, you can continue to access your NUS emails from different computers. However, contacts, calenders and other MS Exchange only features may be lacking.
From http://www.nusnet.nus.edu.sg/exchange/imap4.htm
Settings are as follows:
- Incoming mail (IMAP4) server: imap.nus.edu.sg
- Outgoing mail (SMTP) server: mail.nus.edu.sg
- Mail server user name: your Exchange userID
Note: For portability, ensure that the Drafts and Sent folders point to your NUS email's folders.
