2005/2006

  • 10 Sep 2005: linuxNUS gives away 105 Ubuntu Hoary CDs during Freedom Dayto the students of CS2105: Networks.
  • 7 Oct 2005: linuxNUS becomes an official student group. =)
  • 9 Jan 2006: linuxNUS begins actively supporting students of the module LSM2104: Essential Bioinformatics and Biocomputing, conducted by A/Prof Tan Tin Wee. The module uses Apbioknoppix(a bioinformatics remaster of knoppix) and linuxNUS members provide technical support by answering queries and even meeting up for troubleshooting.
  • 9 Jan 2006: linuxNUS begins participating in the IVLE forums of GEK1511: Introduction to Computing, conducted by Mr Paul Raj Devadoss. The objective is to stimulate discussion and create awareness about opensource at the introductory level.
  • 25-27 Jan 2006: linuxNUS sets up a stall during the IES bazar at Science Foyer. Besides giving away Ubuntu Breezy, members of linuxNUS took this chance to create more awareness about linux and opensource.
  • 24 Feb 2006: linuxNUS participates in E27 participates in E27 as a supporting organisation.
  • 27 Feb 2006: linuxNUS Meetup: Chilli Padi takes place at the SoC1 Level 7 Meeting Room.
  • 11 Apr 2006: linuxNUS conducts a demo of a linux demo to students of GEK1511.
  • 26 May 2006: linuxNUS meetup: Discussion of development projects at S16 Level 8 Meeting Room.
  • 17 Aug 2006: linuxNUS Meetup: Talk on Virtualization and Basic Linux security. at S16 Level 8 Meeting Room.
  • 24 Aug 2006: Introductory Linux Talk: Conducted in collaboration with Computing Club at S16 Lvl 3 TR4.
  • 21 Sep 2006: Linux Tweaks Workshop: sharing of configurations, hacks and tips by the linuxNUS community.
